Katya Chavchavadze Redpath
Executive Director, Creator
Katya is the creator, writer and developer behind A Thousand Ways Home. Katya inherited this story - the main character Anna Chavchavadze is her great-great-great grandmother, who was kidnapped from her home by the famous warlord Imam Shamil of Dagestan. Katya is also descended from the Romanov side of the story. Since childhood, Katya has been immersed in stories and music and making history come alive. Anna and Shamil’s story - including all the other characters touched by it - has been an endless source of fascination, a perfect subject for a multimedia series.
The daughter of musical and multi-lingual diplomats, Katya studied history and international affairs at Wellesley College and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Katya serves on the Board of American Friends of Georgia and started New Day Farm, a certified Biodynamic and organic farm in Ira Vermont. Katya and John have two daughters and divide their time between Vermont, New York City, and Austin, Texas.
